I’ll keep this short and sweet. I took an intermediate class to get more experience drawing from a holster. It was a class with all men except yours truly.

I knew it would be super hot Morgan Hill. So, I wore one of my old uv-protection running shirts. It’s breathable with long sleeves and a high neckline (came above my collar bone). The fabric was mesh-like and stretchy.

Stretchy fabric shirt similar to what I had on.
It turns out a high-neckline is not the only consideration. A hot (and I mean ***HOT***) shell casing bounced off the neckline of my shirt and made its way across my chest and nestled into my sports bra.
I was twisting and shouting as I tried to dig it out, but I couldn’t find the casing. I untucked my shirt and tank top from my pants, hoping it would fall out. It did not.

With all of these men standing around pretending not to notice, I  had to go digging for buried, brass treasure. My face and one arm were all the way inside my shirt and bra as I hunted for this casing.

Turns out my sports bra had two layers and the casing was caught in between. After several frantic minutes, I was finally done with my routine.

I applaud the guys in my class for keeping their cool during my brass search-and-rescue. But I’m sure they died laughing after I left. I know I died laughing telling my friend about it afterwards.

In addition to a funny story, I now have a permanent reminder of this day.

Don’t be like me. Learn from my mistake. When looking for shirts to wear to the range, look for shirts with a tight-fitting neckline and fabric that won’t give way or move around too much.
